Your own apps on every TV your viewers own.
Create a Roku channel, a Fire TV app, an Apple TV app and an Android TV app for your content, without hiring developers. Loopse builds branded TV apps from your library and you publish them under your own name.
Roku channel
Its own Roku channel with your library, live events, Live TV, captions, resume and ads through Roku's ad framework.
Fire TV app
A Fire TV app for your content, published in the Amazon Appstore under your account.
Apple TV app
Ships in the same App Store app as your iPhone app, so a subscription bought on the phone works on the TV.
Android TV and Google TV
Ships in the same Google Play app as your Android app, on its own TV release track.
Sign in by code
The TV shows a code and a QR code. Viewers approve it on your website or in your phone app. No typing passwords on a remote.
Samsung and LG
Apps for Samsung and LG smart TVs, built from the same TV code.
Create a Roku channel, Fire TV app and Apple TV app at once
Most viewers watch long-form video on the big screen. Building TV apps one platform at a time usually means separate developers, separate code and separate updates. With Loopse, every TV app comes from the same library and the same studio. Add a film once and it shows up on the web, on phones and on every TV.
Each TV app has:
- your logo and colours, a home screen with your sections, search and title pages;
- a watchlist and Continue watching, shared with the website and phone apps;
- a player with captions and a choice of audio tracks;
- live events, and Live TV with a programme guide and channel up and down;
- video and audio ads for free viewers, with TVs reported as connected TV (CTV) to your ad server.
How you get your TV apps
- Talk to us. Tell us which TVs your audience uses. We give you a quote.
- We set up your company. Your studio, domain and sections are switched on.
- Upload and brand. Add your content, logo and colours. The apps follow your studio settings.
- Launch your apps. Loopse builds your store-ready files: Google Play for Android phones and Android TV, the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung and LG. You get one zip with the files, a listing kit and a step-by-step store guide. You publish under your own developer accounts, and you can give Loopse access to upload new versions for you.
The files contain no source code and no signing keys. Every build is checked before you can download it.
How viewers pay on each TV
- Apple TV: viewers subscribe or buy with Apple In-App Purchase, using the same products as your iPhone app.
- Android TV and Google TV: viewers subscribe or buy through Google Play, using the same products as your Android app.
- Roku, Fire TV, Samsung and LG: these apps don't sell anything. Viewers subscribe on your website or in your phone app, then sign in on the TV with a code and watch what they already have.
Payments on your website go into your own Stripe or Braintree account. Loopse takes no cut of your sales.
Questions
How do I create a Roku channel for my content?
You need a Roku developer account (free), your content, and a channel package. Loopse builds the channel package with your branding and library, plus the store artwork and text. You submit it to the Roku Channel Store under your own account.
Can I make a Fire TV app for my videos?
Yes. Loopse builds a Fire TV app that you publish in the Amazon Appstore under your own account. Viewers sign in with a code and watch what they bought or subscribed to on your website or phone app.
Can viewers subscribe on Roku or Fire TV?
No. The Roku, Fire TV, Samsung and LG apps don't sell anything today. Viewers subscribe on your website or phone app, then sign in on the TV. Apple TV and Android TV apps can sell through Apple and Google.
How much does it cost to build TV apps?
Your TV apps are part of your Loopse setup, priced for your company, so talk to us for a quote. The stores charge their own fees: Apple has a yearly developer fee and Google a one-time fee. The Amazon Appstore and the Roku Channel Store don't charge to sign up.
Whose name is on the apps in the stores?
Yours. The apps are published under your own developer accounts, with your app name, icon and company name.
How long does store review take?
It depends on the store. Apple reviews often finish within a day or two. Google can take from a few hours to a week, longer for new accounts. Start your developer accounts early, because company checks can take days.
